Homeless Jesus

This statue, depicting Jesus as a homeless man asleep on a park bench, can now be found within Farm Street Jesuit church, before the altar in the side chapel of Our Lady of the Seven Dolours. The church is in central London, and takes an active part in local initiatives, such as the church-based winter night shelter, to help the homeless.

The statue is one of several by the sculptor Timothy Schmalz; the project originated with the Jesuits in Canada, but the most famous statue is in the Vatican, outside the Office of Papal Charities.
