MAGIS 2016 begins!

MAGIS is a meeting of young people (ages 18-30) from all over the world who are interested in Ignatian spirituality. In a year with World Youth Day it can be linked to that event, as will happen this year.

The programme, which this year begins on July 15th in Lodz, Poland, offers an opportunity to share a unique experience at three distinct levels: individual growth, relationships with God and others, and intercultural dialogue. After coming together for an initial meeting, participants are split into small groups for "Ignatian experiments" in a variety of places, projects and settings; daily prayer and reflection help them to develop and deepen what they learn from these experiences. These "experiments" will be in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, and options include a pilgrimage, social service, arts, an inter-cultural experience and spirituality.

They will then come back together again in Czestochowa for a whole group meeting, before travelling to Krakow for World Youth Day, which lasts from 26th to 31st July.

You can find out more about MAGIS from their website. Please pray for all those taking part, that this experience may enable them to grow in their love of Jesus Christ and awareness of his presence, grace and action in their lives.
