RIP Sr Anne de Sousberghe (Sr Romain) HHS

Sr Anne, a member of the Society of Helpers, died earlier this month aged 111. At the time of her death she was the oldest religious in the UK and the fourth oldest person in this country.

But her contribution to the Church was about much more than living to a great age! During the 1960s Sr Anne (or Sr Romain as she was then called) was at the forefront of developing and delivering catechetical programmes, and the training and formation of priests, religious, RE teachers and catechists.

You can read more about her on her congregation's website, and an obituary in the Catholic Herald.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
