Last week the National Office for Vocation released figures showing an increase in vocations to female religious life in this country in 2014. You can read more about this here...
Several of these women have joined Ignatian congregations. One if them is Theodora Hawksley, who has joined the Congregation of Jesus, and who was interviewed by media outlets including the BBC - click here to watch. She has also been featured in The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. Theodora's blog, Happy Begun Freedom, is part of our blogroll, and describes her journey into religious life.
Today, Good Shepherd Sunday, is the day when all the faithful are invited to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We pray especially for all those whom God might be calling to serve him in Ignatian religious life, whether as a priest, sister or brother.
Some of the female Ignatian congregations in the UK are offering the following days or weekends for discerners. If you are considering a call to religious life, maybe one or more of these events could be for you! If not, do spread the word and don't forget to pray for all those who will participate.
You can also find links to their websites and social media presence and details of how to contact these and all Ignatian congregations on our Congregations of Religious page (see tab above)
