Helping the Philippines

In the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan members of the Ignatian family are receiving news from their sisters and brothers in the Philippines.

Despite difficulties with communication, the Society of the Sacred Heart have learnt that their sisters and co-workers have all survived, with varying degrees of damage to their homes and projects. They are doing whatever they can to provide food and shelter to those who have been less fortunate.

The Jesuits in the Philippines are also safe, although some do not yet know what has happened to family members. Their Provincial has urged them all to mobilise their resources in order to provide whatever assistance they can.
